New York City is not only the city that never sleeps, but it is the best place to be as a student. As a student in NYC you can go to the most amazing museums, the most extravagant shows, and the most beautiful parks and zoos for nearly FREE!
1. Broadway Shows
2. the MET and Museum of Natural History
3. Central Park/ Zoo and the Bronx Zoo
For all of these experiences you must bring your student ID to the ticket office and present it to get the deal.
If you are looking for broadway tickets you must go to their ticket office when they open (this is usually around 10:00am).
All of these experiences offer student discounts that are unbelievable! When I was a student in Manhattan, I went to a Broadway show almost every week for $50 or under and my seats were always in the orchestra section. I traveled across the Hudson to get the most expensive view, and saw extremely rare and beautiful art at the MET. New York City is a must go trip for all students!

Free NYC activities:
• talk shows- The Wendy Williams show, and the Doctor Oz show are easy to get tickets to. Just go on their page an request them.
•SNL is a free show but it is a long process to get in. People start lining up at 2:00AM in the morning of because around 6:00AM someone comes out and hands each person a number. Then they tell you to come back a couple hours before the show and line up in the same order. Each guest host brings their own crew which can be whoever they want, so the number of seat varies each show. They let about 5 people in at a time until their audience is full. It is not guaranteed that you will get in even if you went at 2:00AM.
•Window shopping. This isn’t as extravagant as going to a talk show or SNL, but NYC has every single store you can think of and most of them are very expensive and famous. Bloomingdales, sax 5th Avenue, Kleinfeld's, Ralph Lauren, Kate Spade, and the list goes on.
•Central Park is completely free and a beautiful walk in any weather. •The 9/11 memorial. While the museum cost money (I am sure they also have student discounts) the memorial is open to the public.
